Alexei Grynyuk, piano

Ukrainian pianist Alexei Grynyuk studied in Kiev before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Hamish Milne. Notable competition successes include the first prize at the Dyagilev Competition in Moscow, the Vladimir Horowitz Competition in Kiev and the Shanghai Piano Competition in China.

Alexei Grynyuk’s increasingly international career has included recital appearances at Wigmore Hall & South Bank Centre in London, Salle Cortot & Salle Gaveau in Paris and the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire, as well as in Japan, South Korea and Morocco.

Following the success of his New York début at the Metropolitan Museum in spring 2005 under the generous patronage of Alexis Gregory, he was re-invited to their distinguished piano series. His performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Hessicher Rundfunk Frankfurt, KRO4 Hilversum, Ukrainian National Radio and Chinese, Russian & Ukranian television, Radio France.

Acclaimed by Musical Opinion for his “breathtaking technical accomplishment and musicianship of the highest order” Alexei Grynyuk has been invited to appear in such prestigious festivals as Cervantino, Mexico; Dushniki Chopin Festival, Poland; Kremlin Music, Moscow; Musica Sacra Maastricht; Montpellier, France; Newport Music Festival, Rhode Island; and Mannes College International Keyboard Festival, New York.
