Emma Halnan was the woodwind category winner of the BBC Young Musician Competition in 2010. Since then, she has gone on to perform at major venues throughout UK and worldwide. In 2016 she won the Sir Karl Jenkins/Arts Club Classical Music Award, as a result recording a piece specially composed for her by Sir Karl. Emma is also an avid chamber musician and orchestral player; she was the principal flute of the European Union Youth Orchestra 2014-16. Daniel King Smith is a leading accompanist who has collaborated with numerous instrumentalists, and regularly plays at auditions, lessons, masterclasses and end-of-year recitals at the London conservatories.

In demand flautist Emma Halnan first came to prominence as the woodwind category winner of BBC Young Musician 2010. In the grand final, she broadcast Reinecke’s flute concerto with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales live on BBC television and radio. Since then, she has gone on to perform at many of the major UK venues including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and St John’s Smith Square. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3’s “In Tune” on multiple occasions, as well as being broadcast on BBC Radio 2’s “Friday Night is Music Night” as soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra. Emma has also appeared as concerto soloist with orchestras such as the European Union Chamber Orchestra and the Welsh Sinfonia. Her 2018 diary included two performances of Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto with the London Mozart Players and royal harpist Anne Denholm.

Daniel King Smith has given concerts all over the world as both soloist and accompanist. He has been broadcast on both BBC TV/Radio in the UK (In Tune, Proms, Young Musician of the Year) and NHK TV/Radio in Japan, most recently in recital with Yuki Ito as part of NHK’s “Best of Classic” and “Classic Club” series. Daniel has recorded a number of CDs, including releases with Yuki Ito for Sony and with Anna Hashimoto on the Meridian label.

As a soloist, Daniel’s extensive concerto repertoire has lead to many concerts in the UK and around Europe. He has frequently been a featured Solo Classical Artist on many Cruise lines around the world.

  • Car parking is available from 11:30 am
  • Doors will open at 11:45 am
  • Performance at 12:00 noon and will last approximately one hour
  • Snacks and soft drinks (included in ticket price) will be served after the performance.

Booking Terms

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. This means that we cannot return your payment if you are unable to attend an event. Your payment will be refunded in full if we have to cancel a recital.  Donations are non-refundable.
  • Tickets may be transferred to others. This means that you may give away or sell your tickets to someone else. Tickets are not transferable to another recital or another date.
  • If you are unable to attend a recital that you have booked and paid for, we may be able to help you transfer your tickets to another member. If we successfully transfer your ticket to another member, an administrative charge equal to 30% of the ticket price will be payable.  This should be done no less than three days before the recital.
  • Attendees may be captured in recital audio, still, or video recordings; please let us know if you do not consent or wish to be excluded from marketing materials.
